I just wanted to send you a pic or two and let you know how Wally is doing!
Wally is awesome! 🙂 He has been a great addition to our family. He was a little scared the first week we had him but since then he’s really come out of his shell. He loves to play – he’s always chasing balls with jingle bells throughout the house and can make a toy out of anything he finds. He spends the entire day by my side when I’m home during the day without the kids – he’s my buddy!
We have given him free roam of our home and he has a little box on both levels. He’s been great about using them and only had one accident when he accidently got locked in the girls’ room at nighttime. He usually sleeps upstairs in bed with me. He is a very messy litter box kitty and I’m considering getting some covered boxes to help contain the mess but unsure if he’d like those.
He’s on his same diet and his coat looks great, his weight is good too. I don’t see any reason to change his food at this point. He eats his dry food but isn’t that excited about it. But he goes bonkers for his wet food when he gets it in the morning and evening! Being that he’s nearly 10 months old, I don’t really think he’s going to be a big cat. He’s about six pounds, so definitely on the small side. I wonder if he was the runt of his litter?
My girls are absolutely in love with Wally and are so thrilled we got him! My 8-year-old snuggles with him all the time and he will go hang out on her bed and wait for her to get home from school. My nearly two-year-old is SUPER gentle with him and likes to give him pets when he walks by. She can’t say “Wally” or “Kitty” so instead she says “Meow!” every time she sees him (so ALL day long!). Seeing the girls with him really warms my heart.
I just love Wally’s personality. He’s almost like a dog the way he follows you around and wants to get pet and loved on. He enjoys sitting in the window and watching the animals outside. He did try to escape one time and made it as far as the front yard before we scooped him back up so now we’re just really careful with him around the doors. I do not want him to be an outside cat at all.
Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you for taking such great care of him and making the adoption process go so smoothly. He is a wonderful addition to our family and even my husband who isn’t a cat person has developed a fondness for him because he’s so sweet!
Thanks again and I’ll send you pics when I have them. I know it’s nice to know that an animal you cared for went to a good home!
